Tests: We took the SFA on Tuesday (yesterday), and we’re taking a test on “The Monkey’s Paw” and “Third Wish” on Tuesday (the last one before break).

Publishing: Please show your parents the permission slip and the piece of writing you’d like to include in the book.

• Decide what you’d like to put in the book. It needs to be typed, revised, and edited on Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday before break. You need to decide what you’re publishing by Tuesday.
• Suggest a book title so we can vote on it on Wednesday.
• Suggest a place to donate money from sales of the book.

Everyone: We still have work to do before the end of the semester. The last few days of this semester we will be in the lab finishing the final touches on works you’d like to include in the book we’re publishing. If you already know what you want to publish, show the work to your parents and have them sign the permission slip.

Periods 1, 5, 6, & 7: Here’s your latest calendar. We’ll finish reading “The Monkey’s Paw” on Monday. After that you’ll be writing an alternative ending to the story.

• Pick a spot in the story (before the first wish, after the first wish, after the second wish, or after the third wish).
• Use the same characters and theme (be careful what you wish for because it might come true).
• One full page.

You may work on it a the end of class on Monday, after the SFA on Tuesday, and on Wednesday.

Period 3: Here’s your latest calendar. Turn in your Figurative Language assignment ASAP. Finish your Frankenstein Heart Person assignment by Wednesday. You can work on it Monday, after the SFA on Tuesday, and on Wednesday.
