Periods 1, 4, 5, 6:
Chart 1: Characterization is in the Literary Elements notes. Use your notes to explain Figurative Language.
Vocabulary: For each vocabulary word, you need:
- The word.
- The dictionary definition that matches the usage in the novel.
- The sentence from the book. “Cite text correctly” (17).
- Your own original sentence, using the word correctly and showing its meaning. Using a synonym in the sentence often helps accomplish this.
- An illustration that represents the meaning of the word. Must be colorful, nice, neat, and pretty. This may be drawn, a collage of clipart images, or properly cited images from the web.
You may create your project using: quizlet.com, SmartBoard (pairs, keyword match, word biz), Prezi, Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and/or by hand.
